Many struggling, yet entrepreneurial, families need only a little financial help to raise their standard of living. The Changing Latitudes Micro Loan Program provides small loans (i.e., $250 to $500) to hardworking, disadvantaged families. The Micro Loan Program is expanding to focus on the needs of families living in Panajachel, Guatemala. Panajachel is a city of about 15,000 people located 90 miles west of Guatemala City. Thus far, Changing Latitudes has provided the following number of micro loans to Haitian families: 2011 - 20 Loans ($10,000) - Haiti 2012 - 15 Loans ($6,000) - Haiti 2013 - 11 Loans ($2,750) - Haiti 2014 - 8 Loans ($2,750) - Haiti 2015 - 10 Loans ($2,750) - Haiti 2016 - 14 Loans ($5,000) - Haiti 2017 - 9 Loans ($2,500) - Haiti 2018 - 12 Loans ($5,000) - Haiti 2019 - 9 Loans ($3,125) - Haiti 2020 - No loans. 2021 - COVID-19 Pandemic 2022 - No loans.
